The summer of 2021 is shaping up to be very similar to the summer of 2020. The CCA has taken the wise position that Post and Station events must observe all Covid-19 precautions established by the CDC and local governments (see links below). That being said, it doesn’t mean we can’t have planned events, and our plan is to offer a number of rendezvous over the summer recognizing the appropriate limitations. We will follow the guidance that was so successfully used in 2020 of “Getting Together, While Staying Apart.”

We are going to kick off our summer cruising on June 5th with a rendezvous at 3rd Beach at the mouth of the Sakonnet River. It is a spacious anchorage with good holding and a fun beach. There will be no planned station activities, but we encourage members to get together informally as they feel comfortable. We might see members visit one another from the safety of their dinghies, perhaps with cocktail in hand or possibly rendezvous on the beach while observing the recommended social distancing rules and mask guidelines. Whatever your level of comfort, we hope you will join us in kicking off the Boston Station’s summer cruising season.

Date:   June 5, 2021

Location:   3rd Beach, Sakonnet River

Time:       Afternoon arrival

If prevailing conditions are not conducive to anchoring at 3rd Beach, the rendezvous may move to Fogland just north on the eastern shore of Sakonnet River.
