The Cruising Club of America has organized the Newport Bermuda Race in conjunction with the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club since 1926.  Over the years, the Race has become one of the most challenging truly offshore races in the world and many of you have fond memories sailing in it.  If you haven’t sailed it, most likely you know someone who has.

The NBR Foundation was created in 2016 to provide funds to ensure this race continue without commercial sponsorship, run entirely by volunteers. As you consider a cash donation, or perhaps a gift of appreciated securities, for those of you who have raced, please let us know how many races you’ve sailed, when was your first, most recent and on what boats you crewed.  And be sure to let us know what prizes you have won and to whom you would like to dedicate your gift, if you so wish.

You may donate by credit card using the form below, or by mailing a check to NBRF at
BRF, 388 Royal Road, North Yarmouth, ME 04097 Instructions for funding your contribution with securities are attached here.

Successful funding of the endowment is a long-term proposition, appropriate for a long-term charitable giving program. We therefore encourage consideration of any number of “planned giving” vehicles that could be adopted as components of donors’ estate plans. Again, serious donors should seek advice from their own tax advisors before deciding how to respond to this appeal.
Please share your history racing in the Newport Bermuda Race: First race, Last race, what boats, prizes won.
