Reception at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic

  • This reception will be held at the Fisheries Museum where participants will have exclusive access to the museum displays showing the early days of fisheries that helped shape the life and tenor of Lunenburg 
  • The Museum opens onto the wharf deck where Bluenose II will be docked and available for deck access
  • Refreshments will be served

Participants may wish to have dinner after the reception in one of the great restaurants in town (restaurant list will be forthcoming)

It is hoped many participants will consider remaining in Lunenburg for an additional day to take advantage of several opportunities ….

  • A 9:30am sail on Bluenose II for 3 hours – at personal cost to each individual of $95
  • An opportunity to sail on one of more than a dozen Bras d’Or Station yachts, that will be moored at Zwicker Wharf, the Welcome Centre, throughout your stay – sailing will take you in and out of scenic Lunenburg harbour
  • A game of golf at the Bluenose Golf Club, with its dramatic view of the working portion of Lunenburg harbour – by private arrangement, contact LGC at Bluenose Golf Club
  • Cycling – Rentals available at Rhumb Line Bicycle Rentals – contact them at Lunenburg Bike Shop – e-Bikes available – we can suggest special routes along the coast
  • There are fascinating walking tours of Lunenburg 
  • Visit historic St. John’s Church, built in 1753, largely destroyed by fire in 2001, lovingly restored to its original grandeur and re-dedicated in 2005
  • Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance (LAMP) offers performances by international musicians in opera/voice, strings, piano, chamber music, jazz, etc.  See Lamp NS

There is so much more to see and do in Lunenburg including art galleries, gift shops, and touring the “working waterfront” and all is offers.
