Hello Maine cruisers:

We are seeing a lot of CCA boats active in Maine. Sunflower is now downeast and we saw many CCA boats in Mount Desert Isle as we departed.

We starting a new activity that we hope you all will find interesting and participate in. You can be ashore or on your boat. The activity is a “Best of…” section of the Maine cruising newsletter. We asking for everyone to submit items by email to me on Sunflower  (marklenci@gmail.com) in the following categories.

Categories:

• Best anchorage
• Most quiet, peaceful anchorage
• Best hiking trails
• Friendliest lobstermen
• Best food of various cuisine/food types 
• Best place to buy fresh fish (except lobster from lobstermen)
• Best anchoring SNAFU
• Best jury rig repair by a CCA boat
• Best wildlife sighting
• Best new, clever idea for the boat or dinghy
• Best photo, selected each week, from cruising in Maine (must submit photo to Charles Starke at starke@cloud9.net)
• recommend a new, interesting and fun category

Good, entertaining descriptions will improve your odds of being the best in a category.

Our crew will select “the best” of the submissions in each category (except photo which will be done weekly for the newsletter by Charles Starke). Based on the amount of input we get, we may select winners more often for popular categories. If you have any suggestions for new categories, please let me know by email.

For you racers, no protests will be entertained and there is no appeal to an international jury. There are no prizes other than bragging rights.
