Cochise is designed to MCA Category 0, with seven watertight compartments, a double bottom, scantlings in excess of ice class, and a limit of positive stability in excess of 160 degrees. Windows are engineered to a heads pressure comparable to the topsides. Cochise has a range of 5500NM at 10.7 knots. She was launched June 2016 in New Zealand, and after completing local trials we went Fiji, Raefitea, Fatu Hiva, Panama, Ft Lauderdale in three months. The longest hop between bunkering was Raeitea-Panama-5000NM. Cochise averaged ten knots against the trades and current.

Present plan, subject to change of course, is returning to Labrador and Greenland.
