A Buddy Boat system will be worked out as the locals have so much local lore to share with those from further afield. Many new friends to be made amongst the numerous Clubs that are involved.

Events

July 19th - Kerrera. Oban is now both the starting point and finish for the cruise with the Cruising Club of America organised parties at Kerrera Marina, July 19th Meet and Greet and the finale on July 31st.

July 20th the Clyde Cruising Club may run their Tobermory Race from Oban, watch for details.

July 21st - Sunflower Raft - Loch Drambuie, or to put it correctly, Loch Na Drama Buidhe, just east of Tobermory. There will be an 8am VHF announcement from the organisers, the Royal Cruising Club, that the weather is suitable for this endeavour. Lets hope so!

July 24th - Carbost, Loch Harport, as guests of Diageo with lunch and tours of the Talisker distillery. The Irish Cruising Club are helping with this event. The CCA is indebted to Diageo for hosting and making the Distillery available to us.

July 27th - Vatersay. The Clyde Cruising Club and Royal Highland Yacht Club along with Sarah MacLean and the local Community Center will host the Surf and Turf Beach Party. The famed eastern anchorage can accommodate many boats. Walk over to the western beach and maybe even have a swim. Wild swimming, as it now appears to be called, is quite in vogue these days!

July 28 - 30th - Impromptu Alfresco Pot Luck Party run by the Ocean Cruising Club and announced during the Cruise, on the way back to Kerrera. Should we have a High hovering over the Minch - there are many spots for an informal lunch stop, whilst heading east. So be prepared with goodies to bring ashore to share.

July 31st - Kerrera. The finale party will be at Kerrera Marina again along with pipers, Dinner, a Ceilidh band and Scottish dancing. Don’t forget some tartan - plaid! If time and space allows there may be a Scottish Dancing class at NYYC around the Annual meeting, so you’ll be prepared with leather soled shoes.

Enjoy Nigel Calder's amazing view of Scotland, collected over several years of cruising in those magic waters!  If you missed it, here is the link for his slide show:

Scotland is famed the world over for its stunning anchorages, friendly harbours, moorings and
marinas. Albeit the weather can be temperamental and sailing conditions may be lively, the
outstanding scenery combined with armfuls of places to visit makes this one of the really outstanding
cruising venues to explore.

The CCA has not ventured to Scotland for some time but participants in the 2010 Clyde Cruising Club
centennial cruise will recall the amazing hospitality that was a constant feature.

We look forward to seeing you there
